Why Keep the Aspect Ratio Locked?
If you type in a new width and height that don't match your photo's original proportions, the image will look stretched or squashed. Keep "Lock aspect ratio" checked (the default) so that changing one dimension automatically recalculates the other to keep your photo looking natural. Only uncheck it if you deliberately want to crop-stretch to an exact box size, like a fixed banner slot.
