This calculator uses the C₁V₁ = C₂V₂ dilution formula (concentration × volume = constant):

Volume of Stock Ethanol = (Desired Concentration ÷ Stock Concentration) × Final Volume

Volume of Water = Final Volume − Volume of Stock Ethanol
