Frequently Asked Questions
How much extra tile should I buy?
Always buy 10% extra for cuts and breakage. For diagonal patterns or complex layouts, buy 15% extra.
How do I calculate tiles for an irregular room?
Break the room into rectangles, calculate each section separately, then add them together. Our calculator works for any rectangular area.
Do I need to account for grout lines?
For most standard grout lines (1/8 to 3/16 inch), the difference is minimal and covered by the waste factor. Very wide grout lines (1/2 inch+) may require a separate calculation.
